Bushkill Township Police Department Proudly Offers: Project Lifesaver

Project Lifesaver is a proven, life-saving search and rescue program designed for “at-risk” individuals who are prone to wandering due to cognitive conditions such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, or other developmental disorders.

Program Highlights:

• Premier search and rescue service used internationally by public safety agencies.
• Designed to locate missing individuals quickly and reduce risk of injury or death.

How It Works:

• Participants wear a small transmitter on the wrist or ankle.
• Each transmitter emits a unique frequency.

If someone goes missing:

• Caregivers notify the Bushkill Township Police Department.
• Trained responders use specialized equipment to locate the signal.
• Knowledge from cognitive condition training helps responders safely approach and assist the individual.

Who Is Eligible?

• Adults and children with:

Alzheimer’s or dementia

Autism spectrum disorder

Other cognitive conditions causing disorientation or wandering

No Cost to Join. This program is offered free of charge to eligible families.
