Moffat County and City of Craig elected officials, Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, Craig Police, Colorado State Patrol, along with County and City Road and Bridge supervisors met today to discuss possible flooding issues within Craig and Moffat County.
Currently, the priority areas of concern are the low-lying areas near Fortification Creek within the city limits of Craig. City and County Road and Bridge crews are preparing to construct sand berms in the 500 and 600 blocks of Lincoln Street. Crews have also began filling sandbags and are stockpiling sand in the North Parking lot of City Park for those residents in the area needing to pickup sandbags. Sandbags are also available at the City of Craig Road & Bridge shop at 1710 N. Yampa Avenue. You can pick them up until 6 p.m. today and then from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday.
