The Craig Police Department serves the City of Craig, Colorado, with a population of approximately 9,000. Located in Moffat County, approximate population 13,000, it has low humidity, bright sunshine and a rather large daily temperature range. Because of its location in the extreme northwestern corner of Colorado, it is considered the shopping hub for the area. The area is well known for its year around outdoor recreational activities.
The Craig Police Department consists of 23 sworn and 5 civilian personnel. The department staff is comprised of the Chief of Police, Uniformed Patrol Division Commander, Support Services Lieutenant, two Patrol Sergeants, two Patrol Corporals, three Investigators, one School Resource Officer, one Drug Task Force Officer, two K9 Officers, ten Patrol Officers, two Animal Control Officers, one Investigative Technician and two Records Technicians.
