On August 19, 2024 at approximately 7:07AM, the Culpeper County E-911 Center received a 911 call reporting a firearm brandishing in the area of the intersection of Main St and Davis St. The caller stated that an unknown adult male subject had just pointed a suspected firearm at the caller before walking away. The caller was able to provide a description of the male subject.
Culpeper Police Department officers and Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office deputies quickly responded to the area. They located the suspect still in the area of Main St and Davis St. During the male’s arrest, a silver metallic item was found concealed on his body that resembled a firearm’s appearance. No other weapons were located.
As a result of this incident, the Culpeper Police Department has charged Justin Markee Green, 33, of Baltimore, MD with one count of misdemeanor Brandishing. Green was found to have an outstanding warrant from Maryland for failing to appear on charges of burglary, assault and battery, trespass, credit card theft, and larceny. An additional warrant for extradition was served on him. Green was held without bond at the Culpeper County jail.
Based on current evidence, it does not appear that Green and the victim are known to each other. The interaction started when Green witnessed the victim exit a building onto the 100-block of S Main St. Green then follow the victim into an alley off of S Main St while yelling and pointing a metal object at the victim. Based on the way Green was holding the object and its appearance, the victim believed Green was pointing a firearm at them. The victim did not suffer any physical injuries during the incident.
