Pennsylvania law requires that all dogs 8 weeks of age or older be licensed.

Dog licenses are issued on a calendar-year basis and are valid from January 1 through December 31, regardless of when the license is purchased during the year. Licenses must be renewed by January 1 each year to remain compliant with state law.
