Recently there have been a number of postings on social media about several incidents of kids being abducted and/or vans chasing kids in West Lampeter Township.  In many of these postings, references are made to the effect that ‘police were involved.’  We have not had any reports of this activity.  If you, or your child, encounter any suspicious behavior we highly encourage you to contact Lancaster County Wide Communications at 717-664-1180 or 911 in an emergency. 

Although social media can be a great benefit in pushing information out in a timely manner, it can also serve to unknowingly push inaccurate information out as well.  We are confident that people are sharing this information in an effort to protect their neighbors and we applaud that.  However, we also caution everyone that sending out information that is inaccurate can serve to unduly panic people.
