Established in 2009, Friends of the West Lampeter Township Police Department “Friends of the Force", is a charitable, non-profit, volunteer organization comprised of community residents, businesses, and friends working together toward the advancement of a safer community in West Lampeter Township. They are the only local organization authorized to raise funds on behalf of the West Lampeter Police Department, accepting tax-exempt grants and gifts from individuals, businesses, and philanthropies. They do not solicit by telephone or use telemarketers. The mission of Friends of the Force is to provide supplemental resources, equipment, and funding for programs not readily available through other means that enable the police department to work more safely and effectively in providing their law enforcement services. Friends of the Force was not formed for pecuniary profit or financial gain, and no part of the assets, net earnings, or donations generated will be distributed to its members, trustees, officers, or directors.
