Application Procedures

The Bucks County Sheriff's Office offers two distinct application pathways to accommodate diverse needs:

In-Person Applications:

  • Same-day processing is available, contingent upon background check approval.

  • Applications can be obtained on-site or downloaded from our official website.

  • A $20.00 fee (cash only) is required.

  • Applicants must present a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License or Identification Card and provide proof of residency (if applicable). Two unrelated, non-cohabitating references are also required.

Online Applications (Permitium):

  • Online applications are processed according to volume.

  • Applications can be submitted via our secure online portal: buckspa.permitium.com/ccw/start.

  • Applicants must retain their login credentials for future access.

  • Email notifications will be sent upon application approval.

  • Approved permits must be collected within 45 days. Fees apply after 30 days.

  • A $20.00 fee (Visa/Mastercard with 2.8% service charge) is required.

  • Same reference rules apply as in person applications.

  • Hours: Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:00pm (Processing stops at 3:45pm)

  • Extended Hours: First Saturday of Every Month 8 am to noon. 

Quakertown Location:

  • Government Service Center, 261 California Road, Quakertown, PA 18951

  • Phone: 215-529-7250

  • Hours: Wednesday Only; 8:00am-4:00pm1 (Processing stops at 3:45pm)

  • Extended Hours: First Saturday of Every Month 8 am to noon.
