The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office provides VIN inspections at the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, 225 North Enterprise Drive, Girard, Kansas.

Inspections are done Monday through Thursday 8:00am - 3:45pm and Friday 8:00am - 1:30pm.

Inspections are required for used vehicles with out-of-state titles.

If the vehicle has a certificate of origin or a Kansas title, you do not need an inspection.

 Required for Inspection:

 -The vehicle to be inspected.
 -The title to the vehicle. No copies accepted unless stamped from Crawford County Treasurer's Office.
  -A valid drivers license.
  - $20 Inspection fee. Cash is preferred. NO credit/debit cards accepted.

Salvage titled vehicles being put back to highway status AND Kansas non-highway titled vehicles being put back to highway status:

 Inspections are performed ONLY at the Girard Police Department by the Kansas Highway Patrol on Wednesdays from Noon until 2:00 p.m. 
 
Required for Inspection:

-The vehicle to be inspected.
 -The title to the vehicle. No copies accepted unless stamped from Crawford County Treasurer's Office.
 -A valid drivers license.
 - $25 Inspection fee, which is collected at the time the vehicle is registered.
