The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for our area from 11:00 AM Wednesday through 8:00 PM Friday.
Heat index values could reach 105°F, making prolonged time outdoors dangerous.
Protect yourself and those around you:
💧 Drink plenty of water—even if you don't feel thirsty.
🏠 Spend time in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.
👕 Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing.
☀️ Limit strenuous outdoor activities to the early morning or evening hours.
👵 Check on older adults, young children, neighbors, and anyone with medical conditions.
🐾 Ensure pets have access to fresh water and shade, and avoid hot pavement.
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle. Interior temperatures can become deadly within minutes.
Know the warning signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. If someone becomes confused, loses consciousness, or has a body temperature of 103°F or higher, call 911 immediately.
