Now that the storm is over and clean up has begun, please remember when clearing your driveway and sidewalks, do not shovel, plow or snow blow snow into the roadway. Doing so creates hazardous driving conditions that could cause a crash. There are several state laws and municipal ordinances that you could be cited for.
PA law, Title 75- 3721 requires drivers to clear ALL the snow and ice from your vehicle windows, the roof, the hood and the trunk. Snow that is not cleared from windows obstructs your vision while driving. Snow that is not cleared from the rest of the vehicle poses a threat to property or persons. You can be cited should the snow or ice dislodge from the vehicle and cause damage to another vehicle, property or injury to a person.
The Stroud Area Regional Police remind you to be a responsible driver and take the extra few minutes to clear off your vehicle. Your wallet will thank you!
