The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge rehabilitation project on Interstate 83 will close Springwood Road (Route 2002) under the interstate in York Township.

Work will begin on Monday, June 1. All work is expected to be completed by January 12, 2027. There will be no travel restrictions on I-83.

Springwood Road will be closed to traffic as the contractor works under I-83. A 168-day detour will be in place using Pauline Drive, Route 74 (S. Queen Street), and Springwood Road.

Motorists are asked to plan their travel accordingly, expect delays, and use the designated detour.
