The Department has recovered a skimming device that was placed on an ATM at a convenience store.  We have also received other reports of skimming devices being placed on ATM's within other convenience stores.  

Be cautious when utlizing an ATM and look at the machine to see if there is anything unusual or out of place.  If you find someting unusual it may be a sign that it was tampered with.  
Check the card scanner by pulling on it to see if there are any parts that move or become loose. 

Any parts that are loose or come dislodged from the device  may be an indication of a card skimmer being deployed.  

The criminal suspect may also be nearby watching users at the ATM.  If they see you having a problem at an ATM they may try to approach and be helpful by assisting the user through the process.
