After 32 years, Badge #11, Detective Sergeant Weyth Barley, Jr., is retiring from the York County Regional Police Department, effective September 7th, 2026.
Sergeant Barley began his law enforcement career with Red Lion Borough Police Department in September 1994, before joining York Township Police Department in April 1995 and continuing his invaluable service through the mergers of York Area Regional Police Department and York County Regional Police Department.
Over the course of his career, Sergeant Barley has faithfully served as a Patrol Officer, Criminal Investigator, Patrol Supervisor, and most recently, a Criminal Investigations Supervisor. Sergeant Barley also served as an Accident Reconstructionist, Polygraph Examiner, and York County Forensic Team Leader. He has received numerous commendations and awards for his distinguished and dedicated service, including the York County Officer of the year award in 2001.
Sergeant Barley is considered by many to be a mentor, admirable colleague, and friend.
