After nearly 31 years, Detective Scott Longnecker, has retired from the York County Regional Police Department, effective today, May 1st, 2026.
Detective Longnecker began his law enforcement career with Lower Windsor Township Police Department in August 1995. He continued his dedicated service in York County Law Enforcement with agencies that would later merge to become York County Regional Police Department.
Over the course of his career, Detective Longnecker has faithfully served in a number of capacities, including, Patrol Officer, Bicycle Officer, Handcuffing Instructor, Drug Task Force Member, and most recently, a Detective in the Criminal Investigations Division where he excelled in the investigation of crimes involving children.
Detective Longnecker is considered by many to be a mentor, admirable colleague, and friend.
