As of 06:00 a.m. today, the National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for tonight through Tuesday evening, predicting 2 – 4 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts possible. Rainfall in the higher amounts will create a potential for flash flooding and river flooding.  

Pay attention to developing conditions and take necessary precautions.  If you encounter water across a roadway - TURN AROUND and DON'T DROWN. According to FEMA, as little as six inches of water will reach the bottom of most passenger cars, causing loss of control and potential stalling.  Only only a little more can actually cause a vehicle to float away.
