Lititz Borough Police

launch

2018 #PinkPatchProject

June 25, 2018 – Lititz, PA – The Lititz Borough Police Department (LBPD) in partnership with the Penn Medicine Lancaster General Heath Suzanne H. Arnold Center for Breast Health is proud to announce that they will once again be participating in the #PinkPatchProject, an innovative public awareness campaign designed to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and to support breast cancer research organizations and caregivers in combating the devastating disease.

The Pink Patch Project (PPP) is a collaborative effort between the Los Angeles County Police Chiefs’ Association and public safety agencies across the nation. The purpose of the initiative is to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection and treatment in addition to raising funds for cancer research, treatment, and education through the sale of commemorative pink patches.  The LBPD became the 103rd law enforcement agency to join the PPP in 2017.  The PPP continues to grow as more agencies are added almost daily and now has more than 275 agencies partnering across the United States.  In 2017, participating Pink Patch agencies raised an estimated $500,000 all of which was donated to various organizations that support breast cancer research, awareness, or support.   The LBPD was able to donate more than $2,700 to the Suzanne H. Arnold Center for Breast Health in 2017 and we hope to raise more this year!

This year’s campaign centers on a vibrant pink version of our police uniform patch.  The patch has been redesigned for 2018 to include the breast cancer awareness ribbon.  During the month of October, LBPD Officers that fulfill the donation requirement will be wearing pink patches on their regular police uniforms to stimulate conversation with the community and to encourage discussion with the public about the importance of early detection and treatment in the ongoing fight against the disease.

The LBPD will be selling the 2018 commemorative pink patch through the end of October, with all of the proceeds going to the Suzanne H. Arnold Center for Breast Health in their ongoing efforts to provide women with convenient, coordinated access to a wide range of breast health and imaging resources.

New this year is the LBPD’s first ever #PinkPatchProject t-shirts.  The T-Shirts are ultra-cotton short sleeve shirts that are offered in either pink or black and available in youth size small through adult 3XL.  The front of the shirt depicts the 2018 LBPD Pink Patch and the back features the resounding slogan “No One Fights Alone” above a silhouetted American flag through which a pink stripe appears, because we understand the fight would be crushing without the love and support of family and friends.  The shirts will be available by order for $20 in sizes up to XL, $22 for 2XL and $23 for 3XL, either in the lobby of our station or by downloading the order form here.   Deadline to order the shirts is September 10, 2018 and the shirts will be available for pick up or shipped on or before October 1, 2018.

Patches will be on sale for $10 in the lobby of the Police Station as well as ONLINE and through mail; by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to:
