Lititz Borough - On Friday December 11, 2020, Officer Samuel Habbershon was presented with the Lititz Borough Police Department Life Saving Award.  The award was in recognition of Officer Habbershon's life saving efforts on February, 1, 2020 at around 9:56am.  The citation that accompanied the award read as follows; In recognition of your life-saving efforts on February 1, 2020.  At 9:56AM, as a member of the Lititz Borough Police Department, you responded for a 49 year-old male who suffered a sudden cardiac arrest.  You promptly and effectively applied an automatic external defibrillator (AED) administering a life-saving shock. Sudden cardiac arrest events often result in death without rapid emergency treatment.  As a member of the Lititz Borough Police Department, in coordination with other pre-hospital responders, you provided immediate and critical life-saving care.  Your efforts not only resulted in a positive outcome for this patient, but also reflect the core function of law enforcement – to protect life.  The Lititz Borough Police Department has systems in place to recognize exceptional performance by agency members. This Life-Saving Award is presented in recognition of your professional competence and commitment which resulted in a life saved.
