SNOW EMERGENCY DECLARED
A snow emergency declaration has been made by Lititz Borough Mayor George. The Snow Emergency goes into effect on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 2:00 pm. This means that all vehicles parked along designated snow emergency routes (see map) must be moved from the street no later than Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 8:00 pm. This allows Public Works and emergency services to operate safely and efficiently. There are approximately 350 parking spaces available to the public at four different parking lots (see map). The snow emergency declaration will remain in full force and effect until further notice. The Mayor will provide notification of the date and time when the emergency is over, once that is decided.
What is a snow emergency?
A snow emergency is declared by the Mayor of his designee when road conditions are or are forecasted to be hazardous for vehicles and pedestrians. It is meant to discourage travel unless absolutely necessary, to ensure snow emergency routes are kept clear for first responders, and to prioritize Snow Emergency Routes for snow removal. During the emergency parking is prohibited on Snow Emergency Routes, as is operating a vehicle in any manner to cause it to be stuck or abandoned on the Snow Emergency Route.
