On 02/08/2023 an upset parent made a call to Sunnyside Elementary and threatened to blow up the school. The parent arrived at the school shortly after the call to pick up her children and police were notified.  When officers arrived, they contacted a 31 year old female, Dodge City resident in the building entryway. Thanks to security measures at the school, she only entered the entry doors and not the locked interior doors.  She was arrested on site, without incident, and no explosive materials were located. She will be booked into the Ford County Jail under the felony charge of criminal threat. A criminal case will be forwarded to the Ford County Attorney's office. We would like to remind everyone that all subjects should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
