The Summit Police Department would like to introduce our newest officer. K9 Bryan is a 15-month-old half German Shepard and half Belgian Malinois. Two excellent breeds predominantly used in law enforcement rolled up into one. K9 Bryan is paired up with his handler, officer Correa, who will be his partner as they patrol the Village of Summit. Both officer Correa and K9 Bryan graduated on April 28, 2023, from canine handler school at Shallow Creek Kennels in Pennsylvania.  Both officers still have to meet certain requirements for the State of Illinois before engaging in all of the enforcement activities that they have been trained to do. There will be plenty of opportunities to meet this pair of law enforcement officers in the near future. The Summit Police Department would like to welcome officer Correa back home after his 6-week absence as well as welcoming K9 Bryan to his new home. We wish both a successful but more importantly a safe career as they move forward.
