On November 17, 2022, Village residents along with the Neighborhood Watch Group joined Mayor Sergio Rodriguez in the lighting of the tree in front of the police department. What has become an annual event, adults and kids of all ages braved the chilly night air to count down for the lighting of the tree.  As the group counted down to "zero", Mayor Rodriguez, and his little guest pulled the switch and turned on the Christmas lights. Afterwards the Mayor and his fellow Trustees, Aleco Julius, Setki "Sam" Dardovski , Art Sullivan and Executive Director Jerry Hurkes attended the last neighborhood watch meeting before the holiday season. The meeting ended with an opportunity for people to enjoy some refreshments and interact with the Mayor and village officials.
