Tornado Warning in Montezuma County until 2:15 PM * Extended to 2:45pm  

We know tornadoes are extremely rare in our area, but a confirmed tornado has been spotted near Montezuma Creek, moving northeast at 10 mph. Please take this seriously and follow these safety steps:

What to Do RIGHT NOW:

Seek shelter immediately in a basement or interior room on the lowest floor and away from windows.

Avoid mobile homes and vehicles. If you're outside and can't get to shelter, lie flat in a low spot and cover your head.

Do NOT try to outrun a tornado in your car.

Stay tuned to local news, weather apps, or NOAA radio for updates.

Areas near Hovenweep National Monument are especially at risk. Flying debris can be deadly—protect yourself and loved ones.
