The Cherry Hills Village Municipal Code (City Code 7-5-310), requires every resident who owns a dog six (6) months of age or older to obtain a city dog license annually. Licenses are valid for the calendar year, with a two-month grace period at the beginning of each year.

Registering your dog is essential for ensuring public safety, complying with city ordinance and helping reunite lost pets with their owners. A registered dog can be more easily identified and returned if it goes missing.
How to Register
Gather Necessary Documents:
Proof of current rabies vaccination
Identification details (microchip number-if applicable, breed, color, etc.)
Complete Registration Form:
Available online or in person at Cherry Hills Village Police Department.
Pay Registration Fee:
License Fee is $10 per dog. Fees are payable online during registration or in person at Cherry Hills Village Police Department.
Receive Tags and Certificate:
Upon completed registration, you will receive an identification tag in the mail.
Penalties for Non-Compliance Failure to register your dog can result in fines or other penalties. In some cases, unregistered dogs may be impounded.
