On 11/03/2024, the Cherry Hills Village Police Department received a report of a suspicious individual checking door handles to vehicles in the Cherry Hills Country Club parking lot. The suspect, a male, was captured on camera and officers were quickly alerted to his direction of travel.
Thanks to the swift response of our officers, the suspect was stopped and detained. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the individual had an outstanding felony warrant and a lengthy criminal history that spans not only in Colorado but multiple other states which include charges of: Burglary, Distribution of Cocaine, Domestic Violence, Theft, Marijuana Possession, Fraud, Identity Theft, Obstruction to a Police Officer, False Reporting, Criminal Impersonation, Driving Under the Influence, and Vehicular Eluding.
He was subsequently arrested by CHV PD and charged with First Degree Criminal Trespass and Misdemeanor Theft, with the Country Club's surveillance cameras providing crucial evidence in the case. Video evidence showed the male suspect gaining access to unlocked vehicles and taking items.
