The Paradise Valley Police Department is proud to announce a series of major leadership accomplishments earned by members of its leadership. These achievements reflect the department’s continued commitment to professional excellence, modern policing practices, & the development of strong, capable leaders who serve the community with integrity.
This month, Commander Joseph Di Venti and Sergeant Kelly Ingram successfully completed the prestigious FBI-LEEDA Executive Leadership Institute, an advanced program focused on strategic leadership, organizational culture, ethical decision-making, & executive-level management. In addition, Sergeant Ingram earned the highly respected FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award, recognizing completion of all three leadership courses in the Trilogy series: Supervisor Leadership Institute, Command Leadership Institute, & Executive Leadership Institute.
Along with these accomplishments, all members of the department’s command staff have recently been recognized by the Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police (AACOP) for meeting the standards required to earn the title of Accredited Command Executive (ACE). This certification is designed for mid- and upper-level leaders who play a key role in shaping agency culture, policy development, and operational success. Congratulations to Commander Di Venti and Commander Patrick Beumler on earning this distinction. Sergeant Ingram has also achieved historic recognition within Arizona law enforcement. She is the first and currently only sergeant in the state to receive the Foundations of Command for Unit Supervisors (FOCUS) award—an introductory leadership certification tailored specifically for first-line supervisors. In addition, she holds the Accredited Command Executive certification, making her the only sergeant in Arizona to earn both FOCUS and ACE.
The ACE and FOCUS programs provide structured, benchmark-driven leadership pathways supported by mentorship, documentation, and verified performance assessments. Both certifications are sanctioned by the Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ALEAP), and each includes an ongoing re-certification requirement to ensure leaders continue to grow and remain aligned with evolving best practices.
These accomplishments represent a significant milestone for the Paradise Valley Police Department. The department is honored to have its leaders recognized at both the state and national levels for their dedication to continuous improvement, professional growth, and the advancement of high-quality public safety services. “Our department is committed to leading by example,” the Chief Carney stated. “Their pursuit of advanced training and leadership development ensures we remain a forward-thinking organization focused on accountability, transparency, and exceptional service to our residents.”
