In order to be considered an e-bike, the bike must have:
❌ If the bike does not comply with these requirements, it is considered a motorcycle or motor-driven cycle, depending on horsepower.
Many of the bikes ridden by teens do not meet the legal e-bike definition and instead require:
✅ A motorcycle license
✅ Insurance and registration with MVD
✅ Display of an ADOT-provided license plate
✅ Eye protection and a helmet if under 18
