It's not a toy. It's a motorcycle.
Know the difference.
Electric dirt bikes and electric motorcycles (e-motos) have become increasingly popular throughout the Denver metro area, including Cherry Hills Village.
What many residents do not realize is that higher-powered electric vehicles are legally considered motor vehicles and are subject to different laws and operation requirements. Electric bicycles (e-bikes) and electric dirt bikes or motorcycles (e-motos) are not the same thing.
As e-motos become increasingly common throughout the area, concerns have grown regarding the unsafe and unlawful operation of e-motos on roads, trails, sidewalks, shared-use paths, and parks.
Visit the Cherry Hills Village E-Moto Web Page to learn the differences and rules surrounding e-bikes and e-motos.
The City of Cherry Hills Village (CHV) and the Cherry Hills Village Police Department (CHVPD) want residents to have the information they need to understand vehicle classifications, know where different devices may legally operate, and help keep CHV roads, trails, parks, and shared community spaces safe for everyone.
