Citizens have been lodging complaints receiving phone calls from someone claiming to be a Lieutenant with the York County Sheriff's Department Civil Processing Division informing them they missed Jury Duty or some other legal obligation , unpaid fines, court costs etc. that they failed to comply with.  This caller then goes onto to describe fines and costs levied against individuals in an attempt to lure people to send money or provide personal information in a serious Fraud attempt.  The suspect has been using Text based phone number apps to make the calling number appear as if the number is local (717) area code etc.   Frauds of this nature typically involve victims being coerced into sending money by Western Union, obtaining gift cards and contacting the suspect by phone with the card information, or wire transfers directly from your accounts straight to the criminals.  These individuals who prey upon hard working individuals could be anywhere within the US or even abroad.  Please protect yourself.  Stay Vigilant.
