Cherry Hills Village Police Department is proud to participate with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in hosting semi-annual Drug Take Back Events. These events provide a safe way to dispose of unused, unwanted or expired prescription and nonprescription medicines. The service is free and anonymous.  

What to know before dropping off:

• Be sure to remove all personal information on pill bottle labels and medicine packaging.  

What items are we not able to accept:

• Schedule I controlled substances
• Illegal Drugs
• Thermometers (items containing Mercury)
• Aerosol Cans/Pressurized canisters
• Inhalers
• Needles/Syringes/Sharps
• Oxygen containers
• Hydrogen Peroxide

• If you are unable to attend our event, you can also check with your pharmacy to see if they offer on-site medicine drop-off boxes, mail-back programs, and other ways to help you safely dispose your unused medicines.
