• Spoofed Info: Caller ID or official-looking email addresses (such as @yorkcountypa.gov) are manipulated to make the contact look authentic.

• Demanded Payment: Victims are told to pay via Kiosk, Bitcoin, wire transfers, Western Union, gift cards, or apps like Venmo and Cash App to avoid arrest.

• Never Call for Cash: Law enforcement never calls citizens to demand money, gift cards, crypto, or electronic payments for warrants or fines.

• No Phone Warnings: Law enforcement will not phone you in advance to negotiate payment or chat about an active arrest warrant; they handle warrants in person.
• Hang Up: If you receive a suspicious call, do not provide any personal details or money—just hang up immediately

These individuals who prey upon hard working individuals could be anywhere within the US or even abroad.  Please protect yourself.  Stay Vigilant.
