On September 1, 2026, Detectives with the Newberry Township Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Gabriel Garcia-Figueroa following an investigation into allegations of long-term sexual abuse involving a juvenile victim.

The investigation began after Newberry Township Police received a report alleging that Garcia-Figueroa had sexually abused the juvenile victim over a period of approximately seven years. During the investigation, detectives conducted interviews, executed search warrants, and recovered evidence consistent with information provided during the investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Garcia-Figueroa was charged with numerous felony offenses, including: Rape of a Child, Rape by Forcible Compulsion, Statutory Sexual Assault, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Aggravated Indecent Assault of a Child, Sexual Assault, Aggravated Indecent Assault, Indecent Assault involving a child under 13 as a course of conduct, Sexual Extortion, Corruption of Minors, Endangering the Welfare of Children, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, and Dissemination of Explicit Sexual Materials to a Minor. Garcia-Figueroa was also charged with additional misdemeanor offenses arising from the investigation.

On September 2, 2026, Garcia-Figueroa was taken into custody in York City by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

Due to the nature of the allegations and the age of the victim, no additional identifying information regarding the juvenile will be released.

The Newberry Township Police Department would like to thank York County Children, Youth and Families, the York County Child Advocacy Center, and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force for their assistance and collaboration throughout this investigation and apprehension.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
