On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, officers from the Bushkill Township Police Department assisted with the District 11 SkillsUSA Competition, held at the Agri-Plex within the Allentown Fairgrounds.
The event brought together hundreds of students from across the greater Lehigh Valley to showcase their career and technical skills. Students from regional vocational and technical schools competed in dozens of categories such as advertising, carpentry, law enforcement, and other skilled trades, demonstrating both hands-on ability and leadership potential.
The law enforcement competition is designed for students preparing to pursue careers as police officers or in other areas of criminal justice. Competitors were evaluated through a combination of written examinations and practical exercises, designed to assess their knowledge and readiness for an entry-level law enforcement position.
Students were scored on their understanding and application of U.S. Constitutional Law, written and verbal communication skills, and their ability to safely and effectively handle law enforcement related scenarios.
The Bushkill Township Police Department is proud to support programs like SkillsUSA that promote education, professionalism, and the development of future public safety professionals.
