Did you know there is a Move Over Law in PA?  This law requires drivers to move over and slow down when approaching an emergency response area where police, fire, EMS, tow trucks and/or maintenance vehicles are stopped along the roadway with their emergency lights flashing.  The speed limit for these areas is a speed of no more than 20 miles per hour less than the posted speed limit and reasonable for safely passing.  

Failing to comply with this law can result in the following fines:

• 1st Offense = $500 fine
• 2nd Offense = $1,000 fine
• 3rd Offense = $2,000 fine
• More than 3 offenses = 90-day driver's license suspension

There is also a similar Move Over law for garbage and recycle vehicles, Title 75 Section 4572.2
