Please MAKE sure you meet all minimum requirements in order to participate in the hiring process: 

In order to begin the SARPD Hiring Process:

1. SUBMIT  PRE-TEST APPLICATION AND PAYMENT

• A pre-test application must be filled out completely and submitted by 5 p.m. on Thursday August 6^th, 2026. Online applications can be found here. No paper forms are accepted. 

• Application must include a $75.00 non-refundable processing fee (check /money order only or online payment- NO CASH) made payable to the Stroud Area Regional Police Department and received by 5 p.m. on Thursday August 6^th, 2026.  Payment can be submitted in person at the SARPD HQ, located at 100 Day Street, East Stroudsburg, Pa. 18301 OR by submitting the payment online. ***Online payments are temporarily unavailable but will be back online soon.  You may submit your application however the payment MUST be received by 8/6/26 at 5pm or you will NOT be eligible to participate in the hiring process.

• NO applications or payments will be accepted after 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 6^th, 2026.

An updated email address of the candidate is vital to ensure proper notifications.  Once a candidate passes the written exam and Physical Fitness test, they will be directed to a separate website to complete background information.

   2. WRITTEN EXAM

1. Date:            Thursday, August 13^th, 2026 

   Time:           Test starts at 6:00 p.m.  Candidates must arrive by 5:45 p.m.

      Location:      Stroudsburg High School- Cafeteria- 1100 West Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON THE WRITTEN EXAM:

• Check in time for the written exam begins at 5 p.m. and NO APPLICANTS WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE TESTING SITE AFTER 5:45 p.m.
• The written exam will begin at 6 p.m. Applicants need to produce a valid photo ID to be admitted into the exam.
• Candidates MUST bring #2 pencils with them to the testing site.
• THERE ARE NO MAKE-UP DATES, TESTS WILL NOT BE RESCHEDULED. 

 Applicants scoring a 70% or higher on the written test, will be invited to continue in the hiring process and participate in the Physical Fitness test. Written test scores will be posted on our website with the applicant’s test ID # only. Please keep the test ID# that you are assigned the day of the written test.
