The Stroud Area Regional Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing person, 42-year-old Matthew Sheerer.

Sheerer was last seen in the Stroudsburg area on April 18, 2026. Sheerer reportedly left his residence voluntarily and has not returned, and was reported missing on April 23, 2026.

Sheerer reportedly has a history of mental health concerns as well as substance abuse issues. Anyone who has seen Matthew Sheerer or has information on the whereabouts of Sheerer is asked to "Submit a tip" or contact the Monroe County Control Center at 570-992-9911.
