Chief - John Michener - Chief Michener was raised in Conestoga Township, attended Conestoga Elementary School, graduated from Penn Manor High school in 1996, attended York College of PA and graduated from the Delaware County Community College Police Academy in December of 2000. He was hired by the Conestoga Township Police Department in January of 2001. Chief Michener was honored as “ SRPD Officer of the Year” in 2003 2004 and 2016 as well as Lancaster County Officer of the year in 2014. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal in 2007, assigned acting Police Chief in August of 2016 and officially promoted to Chief of Police in June of 2017. Chief Michener is a certified Accident Reconstructionist and is currently assigned to the Lancaster County Crash Investigation Team as well as the County Crisis Intervention Team and the South Central Task Force Law Enforcement Strike Team. Chief Michener is also employed part-time as a Police Officer for the Strasburg Borough Police Department. Chief Michener has been a member of the Conestoga Volunteer Fire Company since 1994 holding various ranks and titles including being a former President and Captain of the organization. Chief Michener previously volunteered with the Conestoga Ambulance Association as an EMT and is a current member of the New Danville Fire Company. Chief Michener served with the Conestoga Township Emergency Management Agency for 20 years the majority of which as Emergency Management Coordinator. Chief Michener is currently appointed as the Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator for Pequea Township. He has attained the highest certification for a municipal Emergency Management official with a professional certification through PEMA. Chief Michener lives in the area with his wife and four children. In his spare time Chief Michener is an avid camper and volunteers with a local chapter of the Lions Club and as a youth ice hockey coach.
Sergeant/Detective Rob Burger - Sgt. Burger is a lifelong resident of Lancaster County. He graduated from Lampeter-Strasburg High School in 1994. Following high school he played 7 years of professional baseball with the Philadelphia Phillies and Colorado Rockies organizations. In November 2002 he graduated from the Harrisburg Area Community College Police Academy. He was hired by the Southern Regional Police Department in January of 2003. Sgt. Burger was honored as ‘’Officer of the Year ‘’ in 2005, 2006 and 2012. He was promoted to the rank of Cpl. in the 2007 and promoted to Sgt. / Detective in June of 2017. Primary responsibilities aside from normal patrol duties include investigations of major crime and administrative tasks such as checking and approving reports, citations, and charges which are submitted by other officers on a daily basis. He is also tasked with managing the yearly work schedule as well as assigning and scheduling officers under his direct supervision for training. Sgt. Burger is an approved Breath Test operator & supervisor on the SRPD RBT IV and is also trained in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. He is also a member of the South Central Pennsylvania Task Force Law Enforcement Strike Team and the Northeast Chapter of the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators. Sgt. Burger is also a Project Lifesaver Electronic Search Specialist and Instructor.
Officer Erick Stone - Officer Stone has been employed with the Pequea Township Police Department as a part time Police Officer since 2018, and is an honorably Retired US Dept of Homeland Security Police Commander. He possesses over 32 years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience in a wide array of diverse assignments in municipal, military and federal law enforcement assignments. He has consistently received several superior service awards for his sustained excellence and professionalism in law enforcement service. He is a graduate of the following professional excerpted law enforcement and military courses, US Department of Homeland Security-Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniform Police Training Program; University of Maryland Emergency Medical Technician course; Several US Dept of Homeland Security Law Enforcement Basic and Advanced Level Instructor Courses, City of Philadelphia Police Academy, US Marine Corps (USMC) Basic Military Police course, USMC Non Commissioned Officer (NCO) Academy, USAF Senior and Basic NCO Academy, National Defense University Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Educational Course; This list include several other career related courses not mentioned that are in basic and or advanced law enforcement or military subjects. He has earned a Master of Arts in Education (Public Policy) and a Bachelors of Arts in Social & Criminal Justice from Ashford University, with high honors (Summa Cum Laude). In addition to his civilian employment, he is an honorably Retired Senior Master Sergeant (E-8), US Air Force Reservist, Superintendent Aircraft Loadmaster with over 32 years of combined joint military service in the US Marine Corps, US Army Reserve and finally the US Air Force Reserve. He has successfully performed military duty and supervised subordinate military personnel in numerous peacetime and combat contingency operations around the globe successfully, most notably Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Joint Guard, Operation Joint Forge, Operation Southern Watch, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Anvil Hammer, Operation Noble Eagle. In his off duty time, he enjoys aviation related activities and working on refurbishing automobiles, to include mentoring youths as a previous Junior Varsity Assistant Football and Junior Varsity Lacrosse Assistant Coach.
