On February 8, 2022 @ 1:45 PM NLCRPD responded to an accident involving two passenger vehicles and a tractor trailer that occurred on SR501 / Furnace Hills Pike and West Lexington Road.
Driver Kaliopi BOURDADONAKIS of Lancaster was operating a 2018 Nissan East bound on West Lexington Road. The driver failed to yield the right-o-way at the intersection and pulled into the path of a tractor trailer, driven by Troy DERSTLER of Elizabethtown, traveling south bound on SR501. After the initial impact, the tractor trailer struck an oncoming vehicle, a 2016 Volkswagen operated by juvenile operator from Lititz, before striking a tree and coming to final rest alongside the roadway.
BOURDADONAKIS was transported by EMS to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment. No other occupants or operators were reported to be injured. Vehicles towed from the scene were removed by Weaver’s Towing. Fire and EMS crews assisted on scene. Preliminary investigation suggested that BOURDADONKIS failed to obey a posted stop sign. Associated charges are pending the outcome of the crash investigation.
