NLCRPD was dispatched to the 3000 block of Caroline Dr for a vandalism report. It was reported that someone smashed a mirror off a vehicle and took off. NLCRPD arrived on scene and contacted the witness/reporting party who advised that he was outside smoking and saw a silver vehicle that he had never seen before driving slowly around the neighborhood and turning around in cul de sacs. Caller Advised that he saw the vehicle stop next to a neighbor's vehicle and a teenager got out of the vehicle, kicked off the mirror of the neighbor’s vehicle, and then got back into the silver vehicle. The suspect then got back into the front passenger's seat of the vehicle and the vehicle drove off towards State St. Caller advised that he tried to run after the suspect vehicle but was unable to catch them. Reporting party advised that there were 2 people in the vehicle.
NLCRPD then notified the vehicle owner, who was aware of the incident. Victim advised that he was unsure of the cost of the damage. The damaged vehicle was a black 2004 Honda Civic. The vehicle was parked along the curb on Caroline at its intersection with Geneva. The driver's side mirror was forced off the vehicle and laying on the ground. NLCRPD captured digital images of the damages and crime scene.
