NLCRPD responded to 1675 Clay Rd for a reported vehicle accident.  Upon arrival It was discovered that driver, Shirley HALDEMAN of Denver, PA had been operating a 2013 Subaru north bound on Clay road when she had “fallen asleep” and struck an unoccupied vehicle legally parked on the shoulder of roadway. The struck vehicle, a 1996 Ford Truck owned by Travis COLLIER of Ephrata, would be towed from the scene as arranged by the owner.  There were no injuries reported or observed.   HALDEMAN was cited for careless driving and released on scene.
