NLCRPD responded to the area of 1000 Mountain Road in Penn Township for the report of an accident that just occurred. Dispatch reported that a tractor-trailer, hauling hay, had overturned on the highway. Arriving on scene officers discovered that a 2011 International tractor-trailer with a flatbed trailer loaded with hay, had overturned from the roadway into a snow-covered field on the northbound shoulder of Mountain Road. A portion of the load had fallen into the field. The driver, Walter SEISET of Manheim, was found to be out of the vehicle and appeared uninjured when police arrived. SEISET suggested that a load of hay had been stacked higher than normal and the tractor-trailer overturned when he navigated a bend in the roadway. Valley View Towing and Weavers Towing and Recovery removed the vehicle from the scene. Penryn Fire Company assisted on the scene. Citations are pending the outcome of the accident investigation.
