NLCRPD Investigators have identified the location of the shooting incident that was reported to police on October 19, 2022, at 4:42 PM.
Officers were initially called to Turkey Hill on Main Street in East Petersburg where an adult male was seen wounded from an apparent gunshot. Evidence suggested the victim was inside of his vehicle when and where the shots were fired. After the shooting, the victim then drove to Turkey Hill where police were eventually notified.
Evidence was located at the intersection of Lancaster Road (SR72) and Lititz Road in East Hempfield Township. Witness information was able to aid police in identifying the scene where the shooting occurred. The incident was believed to have occurred approximately ten minutes prior to the police dispatch to Turkey Hill. The suspect(s) in the case is/are believed to have fired the shots from another moving vehicle. Information obtained in the investigation supports the shooting was not random, but that there was a direct connection between the suspect(s) and the victim.
The shooting investigation has been resumed by East Hempfield Police Department (EHPD). NLCRPD will continue to assist and support EHPD in a joint investigative effort.
