On April 11, 2023 at 2210 hours, LCWC received a 911 call of a single vehicle on fire in the 200 block of West Church Street in Clay Township.  It was reported by the vehicle owner on scene that he started the vehicle and immediately noticed a fire erupt in the engine compartment.  Thanks to quick thinking by the vehicle owner, he backed the vehicle away from his residence and likely saved it from further damage or loss.  Durlach Mt. Airy Fire Company was on scene and able to extinguish the fire after some time.  The Fire Chief noted the magnesium within the engine was ignited and difficult to stop.   No injuries were reported and Valley View Towing removed the vehicle from the scene and performed clean-up services.
