The NLCRPD is posting the agency written directive governing the NLCRPD agency handling of pandemic influenza or similar health emergencies. NLCRPD Employees understand the constraints of their job without using a ‘trial and error’ approach, as key points are visible in defined policies and procedures. Policies and procedures enable the NLCRPD workforce to clearly understand individual and team responsibilities, saving time and resources. Team members, supervisors, and command staff are working off the same page; employees have “official” word on how they should go about their tasks quickly and easily. Clearly written policies and procedures provide legal protection and risk control in the event of future challenges or litigation.
“Hope is not a plan” - Having a plan and a written directive in place communicates a “We Care!” message and provides our communities with the assurance of a delivery of a professional standard of service by their law enforcement agency. In the face of recent events and media reporting concerning the COVID-19 pandemic. The need for current, transparent, and accurate information is more important than ever to provide for an engaged public. (NLCRPD also provides a partial list of agency written directives on the agency web page RESOURCES - POLICY & PROCEDURE section.
