While the acts of the police that make headlines are frequently revisited and applied with a wide brush to our entire profession. The acts of community support and kindness are seldom mentioned. Time for this to change and for the NLCRPD change starts here.
Contrary to the messages featured in some of the local, statewide, national, and social media platforms many residents support and recognize police officers and are genuinely grateful for their service and daily acts of courage, kindness, tolerance and active problem solving in the delivery of high quality professional police services.
Gratitude and appreciation are a two-way street. It is absolutely necessary to take a moment and offer a measure of gratitude from the NLCRPD to the community. Beyond a simple act of appreciation and courtesy from the NLCRPD team, it provides a perspective that reflects what the community does to support the NLCRPD officers as they continue to serve their communities. NLCRPD team members understand and appreciate the meaning of citizen support and thankfulness.
The NLCRPD team would like to thank those residents and groups who on a daily basis show their support of law enforcement. Many of these acts are anonymous and all are provided without any expectations in return. Some examples include:
Food basket delivery to NLCRPD headquarters. Fresh fruits and produce to encourage heart healthy and wellness.
Lunch bags
Complete Chicken Bar B Que dinners for the entire NLCRPD team
Cards and notes of appreciation
On one recent morning a team of criminal investigators and forensic team members were having breakfast following service of a search warrant. When they group went to pay their bill, they were told an anonymous customer already paid the bill. This grateful community member told the cashier to tell the officers “Thanks for their service and sacrifice”
Simple smiles and words of appreciation
Simply put – THANKS !!!!
