NLCRPD Is Enhancing Scene Safety by Utilization of Technology

The casual observer may have noticed something new while passing scenes where a NLCRPD police cruiser is engaged in traffic control, enforcement, or other public safety operations. The NLCRPD is currently utilizing an on-board messaging system designed to increase the warning of traffic hazards or other conditions facing the public. This system is mounted in several of the NLCRPD police cruisers and provides several advantages in the reduction of  risk and liability. This message is capable of providing the officer a menu of pre-formed messages that apply to the situation or the ability for the officer to draft a message that is situation and location specific.
