NLCRPD was able to purchase a new drone for 2026.  NLCRPD purchased a Skydio X10 which is American made with advanced autonomous and AI features including 3D mapping.  Our drone operators received several days of training and instruction prior to deployment.  The drone will be used for accident and crime scene reconstruction, search and rescue operations, searches for suspects in a crime, large event security and mapping for our four municipality partners.  NLCRPD has two FAA certified Part 107 pilots with another one currently in training.  The drone has already been used for accident reconstruction, large event security and suspect searches.
