The NLCRPD collected over 85 pounds of unwanted pharmaceuticals at the recent Drug Take Back Day held last Saturday at the Giant Store in Warwick Township. Thanks to the efforts of the community over 85 pounds of pharmaceuticals will be properly disposed of and kept out of the hands of potential abusers.
The benefits of this program are many and obvious including keeping our children safe from accidental ingestion or overdose.
There are also hidden advantages including keeping these substances out of the sewage treatment and public waste disposal systems. This not only saves money for the impacted treatment system operators but ultimately keeps these chemical compounds out of our drinking water.
The NLCRPD extends a special thank you to all those who participated.
