The NLCRPD recovered an occupied stolen vehicle and arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile after the NLCRPD patrol officer observed a 2013, Ford, Fusion parked partially on the roadway and partially on the road shoulder. The occupant of the vehicle indicated that he ran out of gas and the vehicle was disabled. This was confirmed by the NLCRPD patrol officer who spoke with the victim. The defendant was transported to the NLCRPD for arrest booking. Parental notification of the arrest was completed. It was determined that the juvenile was to be on house arrest monitoring from Baltimore. The NLCRPD filed new charges for felony grade Receiving Stolen Property (Vehicle) , Possession of A Small Amount of Marijuana, Unsworn falsifications, driving without a license, and underage alcohol possession. Since the charges were against a juvenile offender the name of the offender is not subject to public release. Since the child is on probation for other felony offenses from Maryland and faces felony charges in Lancaster County, he was placed in the secure Lancaster County Child Development Center. No use of force was required during the course of this arrest. The NLCRPD BWC/MVR image capture recorded the entire chain of events in accordance with NLCRPD standard practices.
