NLCRPD responded to a two-car crash reported with injury and entrapment. According to the 911 LCWC dispatch automated in car reporting systems indicated that sounds emanating from the crash scene included screams and crying. NLCRPD patrols requested additional first response assets including two ALS (Advanced Life Support) and sufficient BLCS units for a total of five patients. Investigation determined that the crash involved a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox driven by JEAN A. LARE, age 60, of the 100 block of Windy Hill Drive, Lititz, PA that failed to stop at the intersection of Clay Road and Pinehill Road in Warwick Township.
The LARE vehicle collided with a 2016 F-150 Ford driven by CODY N. STEWART, age 31, of the 100 block of Mount Olive Lane, Ephrata, PA. causing the STEWART vehicle to overturn into a field adjacent to the intersection. One child aged three years and a five-month-old infant, and an adult female passenger, as well as the operator in the STEWART vehicle suffered moderate to major crash related injuries.
Both occupants of the LARE vehicle were transported to hospitals for care by EMS providers. Injured parties were transported to both Ephrata Hospital and Lancaster General Hospital by multiple EMS crews. No updated conditions of the patients are available, and no further release of this information is anticipated. NLCRPD cited LARE via summons for a stop sign violation and for Careless Driving.
